A six-location medical group in Central Florida · Healthcare · August 5, 2025
A medical group with six clinics had grown into Azure organically. Every location had its own vendor, and nobody could answer basic questions about what was running or what was HIPAA-covered.
Six clinics, six practice managers, and, as it turned out, six different I.T. vendors, each with their own opinion about Azure and none of them coordinating. Bills were climbing, audits were slipping, and the office manager who was trying to hold it together could not get a straight answer to the question every executive was asking. What are we spending, and is it HIPAA-covered?
We took over as their sole managed provider on Azure. Full inventory across every subscription, tagged workloads by clinic and function, right-sized VMs based on actual usage, moved development workloads to spot instances, and locked in reserved-instance commitments on the workloads that were not going anywhere. Documented a HIPAA-aligned controls baseline (encryption at rest and in transit, quarterly access review, audit logging, backup with tested restore) and mapped it to Azure Policy so drift is caught automatically instead of during the next audit. Consolidated helpdesk into a single queue with clear escalation paths. Every clinic dials the same number and hears the same voice.
Monthly Azure spend dropped 31%. The office manager stopped needing to be a tech liaison, which was never in her job description. The next external audit closed without a single infrastructure finding, because every control was already documented, tested, and evidenced. That is the whole point.
