A short piece on the phrases we have deliberately kept off our website, and what we say instead.
A few phrases show up on almost every MSP website. We have deliberately kept ours off. This is the short list, plus what we say instead.
"Trusted partner." "Cutting-edge." "Solutions." "Leverage." "Seamless." "Empower." "Transform." "Innovative." "Best-in-class." "Mission-critical." "Enterprise-grade." "World-class."
Those words used to mean something. Now they mean the writer had 500 words to fill and the content brief said "sound authoritative." When we read them on a competitor's site, our first thought is not "they sound authoritative." Our first thought is: what are they hiding behind all of this? If the substance doesn't fit in plain English, it probably isn't substance.
What we do. How it works. What it costs. Who it's for, and who it isn't for. We would rather sound like a shop than a marketing deck, because that is what we are. If you like reading marketing copy, our competitors have some really good ones. If you would rather read plain English about what a Managed I.T. shop actually does, keep reading.
